Claire Akurut

Claire Akurut is a public health specialist passionate about working with communities especially women and young people enabling them to meaningfully participate in society. She attended her undergraduate studies at Clarke International University(former International Health Sciences University) and postgraduate degree at Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom. Claire also holds a Diploma in Project Planning and Management at Uganda Management Institute. She has previously worked in organizations like World University Service of Canada, CARE International in Uganda, Lutheran World Federation and others.

She currently joined Imagine Her as the Programs Lead and is adept at project management especially under the thematic areas of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, livelihoods/women and young girls financial inclusion and child protection in both the development and humanitarian fields. She is also an organizer with excellent communication skills and highly foresighted with quality decision making skills. Outside of work, Claire enjoys traveling to new places. Coincidentally Claire is a second generation humanitarian worker taking from her fathers long service in relief work.
