James is a founding member of Imagine Her. Before joining Imagine Her, James worked with organizations like Educate! Uganda, where he rose from a Program Officer role to a Regional Officer working with more than 180 secondary schools in eastern Uganda where he trained students to start and run social enterprises while still at school and teachers on student-centered learning and mentorship. He trained and participated in curriculum design and managed human resources. Prior to that, he worked with Bridge International Academies as a Ugandan Research Assistant where he conducted research for the establishment of Bridge Academies in Uganda to provide affordable pre-primary and primary education to low-income urban and rural Ugandans.

Before joining Imagine Her full-time, James also worked with ChildFund Uganda/Partners for Children Worldwide (PfCW) where he worked with vulnerable children and households in the areas of pre-primary and primary education, youth livelihoods and empowerment, child sponsorship, micro-enterprise development, and VSLA management.

Based on his experience James took a full-time role at Imagine Her heading business development and operations. He manages human resources and leading systems development and spearheads the organization’s sustainability programming, business development, and corporate fundraising.

James holds an MSc. in Environmental & Business Management from Bangor University UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), and a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University. James is also an alumnus of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) East Africa Regional Centre
